Make it stand out.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Using Data to Improve Instruction: Workflow Job Aid created in Canva

Project Description: A professional development project where I led a session for 30+ teachers and coached a year-long pilot group to use student data to drive instructional change. The initiative combined training, ongoing coaching, certification, and a workflow job aid as a lasting resource.

Problem: Teachers often had access to rich student performance data but lacked confidence and strategies to turn that data into actionable classroom practices. Professional development on data use was typically surface-level and didn’t translate into lasting changes in instruction.

Solution: I designed and facilitated a professional learning initiative that included a PowerPoint-based training session for over 30 teachers, followed by a year-long pilot program. In the pilot, each teacher selected a data set to improve, implemented a targeted instructional strategy with their students, and tracked progress over time. As part of this initiative, I also developed a workflow job aid to simplify the process of analyzing Edugence data and applying insights directly to classroom instruction.

Tools: PowerPoint, Canva, Microsoft Word, Edugence Data System

Process Highlights:

  • Designed and delivered a professional session introducing frameworks for interpreting student data.

  • Guided a pilot group of teachers in setting goals, choosing strategies, and applying data-driven instruction throughout the school year.

  • Created a one-page workflow job aid that teachers could use as a quick reference to track their progress.

  • Collected teacher-submitted evidence and conclusions, and partnered with the district coordinator to award certificates and 3 professional learning hours toward their 15-hour yearly requirement.

Project Impact: Teachers gained confidence in using data, developed instructional habits tied to real evidence, and achieved measurable improvements in student outcomes across the pilot classrooms. The certification process ensured accountability and recognition, while the job aid provided lasting support for ongoing data analysis.

What I Learned: I learned the value of combining professional learning with sustained coaching, accountability, and recognition to drive long-term impact. I also saw how visual design and simplified workflows (like the job aid) can empower teachers to act on data with clarity and confidence.
